Email: cqr3@cornell.edu
Coulter is originally from the Boston area, and he received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. As an undergraduate, Coulter conducted research in Dr. Jeannine Coburn’s lab, where he worked with various biomaterials for applications in drug delivery and tissue engineering. Coulter then began his PhD at Cornell University in the fall of 2021 under the co-mentorship of Dr. Ben Cosgrove and Dr. Alexander Nikitin. His research focuses on establishing epithelial lineage dynamics within the uterine tube and identifying cancer-prone cell states that contribute to the initiation of high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma. He uses a combination of bioinformatic, mouse model, and organoid approaches to answer these questions. Coulter is also passionate about STEM outreach and teaching opportunities to increase the accessibility of science. Outside of the lab, Coulter is an avid trail runner, hiker, and rock climber. In Ithaca, he particularly loves to attend local concerts and wine/beer tastings.
